House System


The school follows a House System to promote positive competition and a closer rapport between students and teachers. The Houses provides a safe and secure micro environment within the school system where each child gets closely connected to the different community of students towards achieving common goals and objectives. It creates a feeling of brotherhood and harmony between students of different age groups.

Avantika

The four houses have been formed for the purpose of Inter-House competitions, assembly activities and various meets. Each student of the school has been allotted to one of these Houses. The names of the four houses in the school—Vaishali, Avantika, Nalanda and Takshshila—are rich in historical and cultural significance, drawing inspiration from ancient Indian heritage.

01. Vaishali

This name is derived from the ancient city of Vaishali, which was an important centre of learning and political power in ancient India. It symbolizes wisdom, democracy and progress.

02. Avantika

Avantika refers to the ancient city of Ujjain, known as Avantika in historical texts. It was a centre of education, science and astrology, representing intellectual strength, learning and enlightenment.

03. Nalanda

Named after the ancient Nalanda University, one of the world's first residential universities, it is a symbol of excellence in education, knowledge and cultural exchange. Nalanda represents the pursuit of academic excellence and spirit of intellectual exploration.

04. Takshshila

This is named after the ancient university of Takshshila, which was one of the earliest known centres for education, particularly in subjects like philosophy, medicine and military strategy. It represents the foundation of knowledge, learning and the spread of intellectual ideas across civilizations.

Together, these names inspire students to aspire toward learning, leadership and cultural understanding, drawing from India's rich intellectual history.

Objectives & Leadership Structure

  • The objective of the inter-House competitions is to generate a positive and healthy competitive spirit amongst the students, devoid of underlying rivalries and jealousies.
  • Each of the Houses will be headed by a House Master/Mistress, whose role will be to prepare and guide the students of their House for various Inter House events.
  • Each House will have two student office bearers – a boy and a girl as a Captain and a Vice-Captain depending strictly on the merit of the individual.
  • The School will additionally have a Sports Captain & Activity Captain for different activities.
  • The Sports Department of the school will help and train all students in various sport disciplines on an equal opportunity basis.
  • Out of this main Prefectorial Board, the Principal shall choose two students to be designated as the Head Boy and the Head Girl of the school.
  • The inputs of the students’ peer group, juniors and teachers will be taken into consideration, but the appointments will be made by the SMT (School Management Committee).
  • All Inter-House activities are student-oriented with an idea that the students attempt participation on their own or with the help and guidance of any teacher irrespective of his/her house affiliation.
